FT01 DAY PROGRAM
Sierramar* Livingston * Río Dulce
1st day Transfer from Antigua or Guatemala City to Puerto Barrios, visiting on route the archaeological site of Quirigua. Transfer by boat from Puerto Barrios on the Caribbean coast to Sierramar lodge for check in. In the afternoon tour by boat to hot springs in the Río Dulce. Evening visit to Livingston, to enjoy the Afro-Indigenas (Garifuna) style of life.
2nd day Early morning bird watching, explore caverns at Sierramar, enjoy hiking paths. Breakfast at Sierramar for all, late sleepers and early birds. Hike along the coast through Garifuna Villages, hike along the river to 7 Altars or travel by boat to Cocolí Beach for a day of sun and sand.
3nd day Boat tour to Río Dulce and Castillo de San Felipe, return to Antigua or Guatemala City.
FT02 DAY PROGRAM
Copan (Honduras) * Sierramar* Livingston * Río Dulce * Quirigua
1st day Transfer from Antigua or Guatemala City to Copan, Honduras. Visit the Copán archaeological site and the quiet and beautiful town of Copan. Overnight accommodations in a tourist class hotel.
2nd day Early transfer to Puerto Barrios on the Caribbean coast. Transfer by boat from Puerto Barrios to Sierramar lodge. Afternoon boat tour on the lower Río Dulce to the hot springs in the river. Evening visit to Livingston, to enjoy the Afro-Indigenous (Garifuna) style of life.
3nd day Breakfast at Sierramar. Boat tour up the Río Dulce to Castillo de San Felipe. In the afternoon drive back to Guatemala City or Antigua visiting on route the archaeological site of Quirigua.
FT03 DAY PROGRAM
Quirigua * Livingston * Río Dulce * Machaquila & Tikal
(Fun, archeology & eco-history adventure, subject to airflight availability)
1st day 5.00 am tranfer from Antigua or Guatemala City to Puerto Barrios on the Caribbean coast. Transfer by boat to Sierramar lodge. Lunch and guided visit to Livingston. Enjoy the Afro-Indigenous (Garifuna) style of life.
2nd day Early A.M., bird watching or caves tour at Sierramar. Return for breakfast and 9:30am departure by boat for a tour up the Río Dulce to Castillo de San Felipe. Drive to Machaquila River (near Poptun, Petén) for afternoon river rafting. Accommodations at Hotel Ecologica Villa d los Castellanos.
3nd day 6:00am departure for Tikal ruins. Breakfast, lunch, guide and entrance fees are provided. 4:00pm flight back to Guatemala City. Transfer to Antigua.
FT04 DAY PROGRAM
Flores * Tikal
(Subject to airflight availability)
1st day Welcome at Santa Elena airport, Flores (optional tours available, depending on the arriving time). Overnight and accommodations at hotel in Flores on the Island.
2nd day Tikal National Park for a full day guided tour including picnic lunch and visit to Sylvanus Morley Museum.
3nd day Tour in Lake Peten Itza, small zoo of Petencito asnd caves of Actun Kan . In the afternoon transfer to the local airport to board the flight to Guatemala City.
FT05 DAY PROGRAM
Todos Santos * San Andres Xecul * Fuentes Georginas * Zunil * Iximche
Historical lecture about the Maya-Mam living, talk with a shaman who leads
Maya ceremonies. Market day and Mayan ruins, colorful indigenous ceremonies
on the steps of local churches. Fresh flower and vegetables fields,
soak in a volcanic hot water spring.
1st day Guided adventure from Guatemala City or Antigua to Todos Santos, visiting en route the archaeological site of Iximche. Accommodations and breakfast family-style at Casa Mam, basic accommodations.
2nd day Drive through the Cuchumatanes Mountains with breathtaking views of mountain tops, valleys, and highland villages. Visit the charming church of San Andres Xecul. Overnight accommodations in Quetzaltenango.
3nd day Drive to Fuentes Georgina, time for a soak in the volcanic hot springs. Drive will continue to Zunil and its cemetery. Afternoon return through Iximche.
FT06 DAY PROGRAM
Todos Santos * Aguacatan * Nebaj * Chichicastenango * Iximche
1st day Guided adventure from Guatemala City or Antigua to Todos Santos, visiting en route the archaeological site of Iximche. Accommodations and breakfast family-style at Casa Mam, basic accommodations.
2nd day Drive through the Cuchumatanes Mountains with breathtaking views of mountain tops, valleys, and highland villages. Visit Aguacatan and the charming town of Nebaj. Overnight accommodations in Nebaj.
3nd day Drive through Santa Cruz del Quiche to Chichicasteango to see the most colorful indian market. Iximche in the afternoon and back.
